Solhem Companies
multifamily development
Solhem Companies is planning a residential development project consisting of a six story, approximately 408-unit multifamily complex in place of the former Pentagon Park buildings (4640 and 4660) which will be demolished.
The proposed development is bordered on the north by Fred Richards Park and development plans include a pedestrian greenway link between the park and West 77th Street. The new multifamily development will have public, outdoor gathering space as well as a planned interior green space that embraces the park, creating a welcoming and seamless transition.
The current schedule forecasts some units coming available as soon as Spring of 2023.
history.
During the mid- the to late 1960s, Pentagon Office Park was a showcase development—one of the first suburban office campuses in the Midwest. Constructed by Rauenhorst Company (The Opus Group), the thoroughly modern office buildings were a feather in the trendy Edina cap. The campus attracted international companies as well as smaller enterprises and local start-ups. Over the next forty years, the complex changed hands through multiple owners and unfortunately lacked proper vision and investment.
In 2013, Hillcrest Development acquired the then distressed property. Rather than merely renovating the buildings to turn them, Hillcrest Development planned for a comprehensive restoration to keep the development vibrant into the future. The redevelopment creates opportunities for the modern professional office community while respecting the past. Today, Pentagon Park is a hub for corporations and entrepreneurs seeking an exceptional office campus.
